After the explosion of two oil wells due to the oil exploration activities of Bankers Petroleum in Marinze area of Fier, the Ministry of Energy presented on Tuesday a report which predicts a range of measures that will be taken in order to prevent similar occurrences in the future. The detailed technical and scientific report displays several measures which at first foresee the cancellation of Bankers Petroleum Albania Ltd company activities in Marinze area for a certain amount of time.
The company will not be allowed to continue its normal activity in the square of the P29 A oil well until the polluted area is rehabilitated. In the upcoming activities, the company will be obligated to have in normal work condition the two lines of the preventers, whose pipes must be of a diameter no less than 4 poles.
Another condition that the company must meet in order to be able to have a normal activity in Marinze area is taking preliminary information regarding the historic of the oil wells that will be drilled and based on this, the company will select the proper technology in well drilling.
