779 young people from France, were in Vlora, on Monday, August 5, in the framework of the sportive and cultural tour, called Europ’Raid, promoting the coastal city as a perfect summer destination, in the network of tourist cities of Europe. The French youth, stunned by the beauty of Vlora, that offers at the same time beaches, cultural monuments and fantastic landscapes, chose for the third time in a row the southern city of Albania, to make that part of their annual European tour.
The organizer of Europ’Raid, Benjamin Laidin said that he is very happy that came back to Vlora for the third time, and with a bigger number of tourists this time. He added that he likes a lot the city of Vlora, it was a perfect organization and for sure they will come again next year too. Meanwhile, another Frenchman said that they were very happy that they were in Albania, and are excited to travel and explore the country.
Europ’Raid is considered a unique cultural event, that aims at the discovery of heritage, culture, history, and people from the Mediterranean to the Black Sea, through the Carpathian and the Tatra Mountains, Rhine, and Danube rivers, to the Albanian Riviera, etc. Europ’Raid rediscovers the natural landscapes, famous cities and historical European countries, such as the Saint Mark’s Square, Acropolis in Athens, the mosques of Istanbul, the Berlin Wall, or the channels of Amsterdam.
Also, Europ’Raid wants to create more contacts between the people of Europe and them. Every night, with the desire to share their culture, the partakers explore the local cultures of countries that they visit. During their 23-days-tour, they use Peugeot 205 cars, driving for more than 10.000 km, almost 450 km per day, turning Europ’Raid in one of the longest sports tours in the world.
Europ’Raid represents an initiative that gathers French youth driving in a route 10.000 km long, in 20 European countries, for 23 days in order to promote them, spreading the message of solidarity. On their Albanian leg tour, The French youth stayed at the old coast of Vlora, where they enjoyed the sunset, food and the activity prepared for them by the locals. They celebrated until the early morning hours of Tuesday, with music in the background in a summer disco set at the beach.
