TIRANA, July 22
The Institute of Statistics has published this month the report titled ‘International Trade, June 2019’, where it shows that Albania exported a total value of Lek25 billion value of goods and products during last month. The exports though decreased by 4.4% compared to the same month of last year. Whereas, the imports reached a worth of Lek53 billion, during last month, falling by 1.5% compared to the same month of last year. Thus, in June 2019, the trade deficit was Lek28 billion.
January-June 2019
Regarding the first six months of 2019, the exports of goods and products reached a value of Lek152 billion, whereas the imports reached a value of Lek318 billion. The trade deficit for the first six months of 2019 was Lek165 billion, increasing by 9.2% compared to the same period of 2018.
Most important trade partners
In June 2019, the countries with whom Albania had the biggest increase of exports, compared to June 2018, were: Italy (0.3%), Germany (12.6%) and China (37.5%). Whereas, for the period January 2019-June 2019 the countries with whom Albania had the biggest increase in exports, compared to the same period of last year, were: Kosovo (28.7%), Germany (2.8%) and North Macedonia (4.2%).
Overall, in June 2019, Albania had the biggest exports of goods and products with these countries:
- Italy (Lek12.5 million)
- Kosovo (Lek2.3 million)
- Germany (Lek1.3 million)
Regarding the imports, the countries with whom Albania registered an increase in June 2019 compared to the same month of last year, were: Spain (73.6%), U.S.A. (12.7 %), and China (11.4%). Whereas, for the period January 2019- June 2019, the countries with whom Albania had the biggest imports, compared to the same period of last year, were: China (22.5%), Greece (10.2%) and Turkey (6.5%).
Overall, in June 2019, Albania had the biggest imports of goods and products with these countries:
- Italy (Lek14.8 million)
- China (Lek 4.8 million)
- Turkey (Lek3.8 million)
What did Albania export?
In June 2019 Albania exported to other countries:
- Textile and shoes (Lek10.6 million)
- Building materials and metals (Lek3.8 million)
- Minerals, fuel, and power (Lek3.7 million)
