TIRANA, October 7
The anti-informality campaign conducted during July September shed light on how large the informal workforce is and what region has the highest rate of informal employment. Based on the data provided by the State Labor Inspectorate and Social Services, 1,688 employees were found in the informal economy.
Moreover, the data show that the city with the highest number of workers that were not regulated or protected by the state was Durres. The list continues with Vlora, Shkodra, and Tirana, while Gjirokastra ranked last with 13 informal employees.
In general, 31 percent of the total number of inspected workers were found in informal activity.
Further on, the anti-informality campaign focused on identifying cases when employees fail to provide or comply with safety measures at work.

Guideline against child labor
In another event, the State Labor Inspectorate informed that a guideline on Measures against Child Labor drafted in cooperation with the OSCE Presence in Albania will help inspectors to identify and manage cases of child labor.
The guideline was made in close cooperation with the State Agency on Childβs Rights and Protection and the National Coordinator against Trafficking in Human Beings at the Interior Ministry.
