The Ministry of Finances has announced that the collection of the Value Added Tax will be given with 10 year concession and the concessionary company will be selected through an international tender.
In an informal meeting with media representatives, the Minister of Finances Shkelqim Cani declared that many international companies have showed interest in being concessionary companies for the VAT allocation. According to the Minister, the system of collecting the VAT needs improvements in order to fight the fiscal evasion.
Present in the meeting was also the vice Minister of Finances Irena Beqiraj, according to which the current system of VAT collection is facing problems in identifying the transactions and in controlling the products. The selected concessionary company will provide a modern electronic system for paying the bills online by businesses.
