There’s a Puppet Festival for All Ages Happening in Tirana 

TIRANA, May 28

The Albanian capital is turning into a cultural hub for the region and beyond. For six days Tirana will host the International Puppet Theatre Festival Albania. This festival will showcase original performances by puppet theatres from all over the world. (Find the program below)
Theatres and companies from China, Turkey, Spain, Romania, and Albania will perform every day at Metropol Theatre and in Skanderbeg Square. They will present new ways of communications, traditions, exchange of experiences and cultures through puppetry.
All the puppet shows are expected to entice the imagination of all people no matter their age.
Admission to the puppet shows will be free.

Program:

28 May, The Puck Puppet Theatre from Romania will perform ‘The Street of Angels’ in Skanderbeg Square at 19:00 hours

29 May, The Troupe of Metropol Theatre from Albania will perform ‘Don Quixote’ at Metropol Theatre at 10:00 hours and at Skanderbeg Square at 20:30 hours.

30 May, Angels de Trapo troupe from Spain will perform ‘Error 404’ at Metropol Theatre at 11:00 hours and at Skanderbeg Square at 20:30 hours.

31 May, the Chinese Hand Puppet Performance will perform ‘The Prodigal Son’, ‘Knocking out the Tiger’, and ‘Daming Courtyard’ at Metropol Theatre at 11:00 hours and at Skanderbeg Square at 20:30 hours

1 June, Let’s Celebrate Together at Skanderbeg Square from 9:00 to 12:00 hours.
