On July 3rd, the representatives of TAP project and high ranked officials of the government will organize the inauguration ceremony of the commencement of works in Corovoda city on behalf of Trans Adriatic Pipeline. According to the press office of TAP in Albania, the construction of roads and the restoration of bridges in the areas where the pipeline will be established is the first step towards a huge scale project as TAP.
The construction of more than 100 kilometers of roads and the restoration of 50 bridges will begin in the next year while the constructions that will start on July 3rd foresee the construction of Skrapar – Vithkuq road axe, a medieval road which nowadays is not used by the locals. 2 new bridges will be constructed and 50 others will be restored in the cities of Korca, Berat and Skrapar, according to TAP Albania press office. The constructions have been undertaken by the Albanian owned company Gener 2 and the Italian owned construction company Sicilsaldo which won the public tender for the constructions of TAP in Albania last year.
TAP project is predicted to transmit about 10 billion meters3 oil per year and the pipeline will be 870km long, according to the preliminary project. TAP pipeline will pass through the region of Kaspik, Greece, Albania and through the Adriatic sea, in southern Italy and in other Western European countries.
