During his participation in the Berlin Summit of Balkans Ministers of Economy, Albanian Minister of Economic Development, Trade and Entrepreneurship Arben Ahmetaj, was asked about the TAP project. He declared that this pipeline will transform Albania into a energy supply junction for Balkans.
“I would like to highlight that Albania believes that small countries like us, in order to develop, should first integrate in the global market. Albania consists in a small market of 3-4 consumers in country and 30 consumers in regional terms,” declared Ahmetaj.
According to the Minister, the energetic security and the energy supply must be seen as connected together in order to have a stable climate, because without it, the stability of this market may present uncertainties. TAP represents for Albania a very important opportunity because puts it in a very favorable position in the Balkans energy distribution map and also means a secure energy supply system.
“This project will improve the market by turning it into a more flexible one, and will reduce the dependency from Russia and other countries,” ended his word Minister Ahmetaj.
