Albanian Postal Service issued postmarks with very interesting symbols, using images captured in the underwater world of Adriatic and Ionian seas. The images are captured in discovery missions of Albanian Center of Sea Discovery.

The postmarks’ image that Albanian Postal Service used commonly were important and historical personalities, religious figures or images from the Albanian nature, culture, cities and seas. Since the underwater world of Albanian seashore is rich in many sea species, archaeological and historical relics, the use of its images may help in the promotion of Albania.

There has been a quite intensive exploration of the underwater world of Albanian beaches lately, and the government itself has undertaken several initiatives to promote it. The most important one is the collaboration between National Agency of Coastline and the University of Michigan, based upon which Michigan students will take part in exploration expedites in the Albanian beaches along with archeologists and sea experts.
