TIRANA, July 20
The new regulation adopted by the Bank of Albania (BoA) requires that all the commercial banks in Albania install a device that identifies counterfeit coins. Therefore, it will be possible to remove those coins from circulation and to identify the persons that deposit them to the bank.
According to the regulation, the device should process Lek coins by classifying and setting apart the metallic coins apt for circulation and those considered counterfeit or unadaptable for circulation.
