Brisani Bay to Duk Gjoni Cave is the newest marked route that avid hikers and fans of outdoor activities can explore in the Managed Nature Reserve of Karaburun Peninsula.
This route is an extension of Pashaliman Military Base to Brisani Bay route. Besides the marking signs, three signposts are found along the trail respectively in Pashaliman Base, at Ravena-Brisan corner, and at Brisani Bay. Duk Gjoni Cave is found at 122 meters above the sea level and it covers a surface of 600 square meters. It is one of the most important habitats for caves that dwell in there. Β This is one of the caves made accessible to tourists.
The new trail was established by the Protection and Preservation of Natural Environment in Albania, the National Agency for Protected Areas AKZM Albania, the Ministry of Economic Development, Tourism, Trade and Entrepreneurship, and AKZM Karaburun Peninsula. This area is highly visited by tourists, especially during the summer season. Karaburun is the largest peninsula in Albania. It is located in Vlora district at the point where the Adriatic and Ionian seas meet. The surrounding sea waters are part of Karaburun-Sazan National Marine Park.
