National Employment Service has started a broad campaign to raise awareness on the Employment Promotion Fund that assists businesses in opening new vacancies. The last meeting took place in Elbasan city, where a number of businessmen discussed about this fund and the opportunities it offers to their businesses. Present in the meeting was Genci Kodheli, representative of this governmental initiative, according to which “this awareness campaign will be held in every city of the country.
These meetings according to Kodheli will help businessmen to know more on the procedures and how to apply for the programs of employment promotion. This fund has the objective to employ persons with disabilities in private businesses. Compared to the last year, during 2015 businesses have shown more interest towards this initiative and this project aims to be adopted by 500-600 businesses.
Employment Promotion Fund was highly promoted by the government during the last year, since it was the first year this project implemented, mostly in garment industry businesses and businesses in agriculture sector. By this fund, the government aims to reduce unemployment and reduce informality by assisting businesses grow. This fund will distribute about $1 million for businesses in flooded areas of Fier and Vlora cities, announced the Minister of Social Welfare and Youth, Erion Veliaj while presenting the funding scheme for 2015, in February 13.
