According to Open Data Albania, an independent investigating platform on the governmental data and statistics, 61 administrative units have announced 269 public procurement for public services, worth 8.07 billion ALL. The municipalities have announced the public procurement during the period of July 2015 – April 2016, says Open Data Albania.
68% of the total of public procurement have been used for investments in public works and the remainder has been used for the purchase of merchandises and services. The municipalities that have announced the highest percentage of public procurement are Korca and Fieri municipalities while those with the lowest public procurement are Tepelena, Kukes and Memaliaj.
Local investments mainly include the rehabilitation of central urban areas, investments in infrastructure and others.
