Albanian Minister of Agriculture Edmond Panariti held a meeting with businessman and business representatives which donated for flooded families after hundred of hectares, houses and farms were destroyed due to massive flooding in Fier and Vlore areas, in south of the country.
One of the key points the Minister spoke about was the huge potential this sector has and provides for future investments, as it is the key sector of the Albanian economy.
According to him, the government is strongly decided in increasing investments in agriculture sector and underlined that the increase of offer, the gathering and distribution of agricultural products are the key of success for developing this sector.
“The economic revival of the Albanian agriculture comes from the development of agriculture and the increase of investments. Our ambition is to fourfold greenhouse surfaces and to invest in warehouses within our four year mandate,” declared Panariti.
Present in the meeting was also the Head of Albanian Chamber of Industry and Trade Nikolin Jaka which highlighted that the donations from businessmen for flooded families and businesses were significant and very helpful. Jaka appealed to Albanian entrepreneurs to raise awareness on the importance of investments in agriculture sector.
“Now it is time to raise awareness and work in order to increase standards of our products since we have many resources and opportunities in transforming into a powerful voice in the exportation of these products,” stated Jaka.
