The Multinational Italian Company Comdata Group, one of the biggest call-center enterprises in the neighboring country and one of the five key players in Europe for BPO entered the Albanian market, Monitor magazine reports. Comdata purchased one of the companies of Sestante Holding which owns Intercom Data Service (IDS), We Web, and CC Tirana that employee about 2,500 people. At first, 85 percent of CC Tirana was sold to Comdata. Moreover, Monitor says that based on official sources from IDS, the company will close the sale deal to Comdata.
IDS ranks among the biggest call-center companies in Albania. It reported a 14 percent increase in revenues during 2017. In the meantime, We Web a company focused on digital marketing that was established in 2016, reported earnings of Lek 315 million in 2017. CC Tirana was established last April and it services related to call centers, contact centers as well as back-office activities.
The founder of IDS, Agron Shehaj said to Monitor that the arrival of Comdata is a good news for the Albanian labor market. Moreover, he added that his group will focus on digital marketing and on new infotech companies for the international market.
“I believe in a better future for the export of tourism and services sector,” Shehaj was quoted as saying.
Comdata is expected to create about 3,000 new jobs in the beginning and they can expand to 10,000 jobs if the progress is positive.
According to Bloomberg, the Milan based company provides contact center, help desk, back office, and document management outsourcing services. It also offers BPO services like sales and marketing, customer care, credit management, and storage and substitutes storage. It is present in 16 countries and operates in 23 languages.
