A meeting in the “Italian-Albanian Petrolifera” company has gathered Italian investors, Albanian-Italian business representatives, high ranked officials, representatives of Italian Chamber of Commerce in Albania and local authorities, organized by the General Consulate of Italy, in Vlora city.
The aim of the meeting was to enhance and strengthen the further collaboration between Italy and Albania and the increase of Italian trade system presence in the southern part of Albania. Present at the meeting were also the Italian ambassador to Albania, Massimo Gaiani, the General Councilor Stefano Bergesio which highlighted the importance of Italian-Albanian collaboration, not only in the economic aspect. Italian businesses have been since years present at the southern part of Albania and have given their contributions in many ways in the increase of employment capacities and welfare. Italian ambassador Gaiani highlighted the importance and impact the Italian companies have in Albania, and especially in Vlore city.
Such events, according to him, must be held even in other cities except Tirana. “It is very important to have these kinds of meetings in Vlore and other cities because Italian businesses are not located only in Tirana capital.” Gaiani added that the role of Italian Chamber of Commerce is an important factor in the increase of Italian capital presence in Albania, in the development of the so called “System Italia”. Speaking about the Italian Chamber of Commerce, Gaiani highlighted the role of it as a “networking system” which will be supported by the Italian embassy to Albania. The General Consulate of Italy in Vlora will open its doors to all Italian businessmen which may face difficulties or as a networking place of Italian companies with Albanian companies.
There are several big Italian businesses operating in Vlore such as Italian-Albanian Petrolifera, Intensa San Paola bank, Marina Orikum and dozens of trade subjects which operate in various sectors.
