TIRANA, October 26
Existing enterprises and startups from the sectors of tourism, informatics, textile, handcraftsmanship, agri-processing, and many others can apply for financial support and grants for their ideas through ProSEED Projects. The Ministry of Finance and Economy (MFE) in a recent press announcement confirmed that the third call for this grant will open on November 1 up to November 30. ProSEED project is a cooperation between MFE and GIZ. It is funded by the German government under the assistance of GIZ.
“The overall objective of the ProSEED program is to bring sustainable economic and regional development, promote employment, vocational and education training in Albania, giving impetus to skilled workforce employment and self-employment, especially for skilled youth in the Albanian labor market,” the statement highlighted.
The project is expected to have a two-year term. It will provide the allocation of over 110 grants to the winners. The winning business plans will be selected by a professional and impartial evaluation committee. Grants will go through the Ministry of Finance and Economy and will be distributed to new and existing entrepreneurs. The main sectors covered by the IDEA-Grant Scheme are informatics, textiles, tourism, craftsmanship, and agri-processing.
IDEA-Grant Scheme provides subsidies for costs related to approved activities on the basis of cost sharing. This means that the grant does not fund all costs, but only parts of them, while the rest is funded by the grantee. Regarding the application criteria and other details about the project, this ministry has also published the regulation, business plan template to be submitted by entrepreneurs, self-declaration and application forms.
