Gambling to be Banned! Changes in Penal Code Predict Harsh Penalties

Further changes are expected to be undertaken in the parliamentary session of this week, regarding the Penal Code, besides that regarding the problematic pets. According to the changes that will be open for voting in the parliament, the gambling will not only be banned, but there will be consequences for those who organize and partake in it. 

Referred to the article 197, those who organize and practice the activity of gambling or lotteries will be imprisoned from 1 year to 3 years. This penal act will be harsher for those who partake in it and are younger than 18 years old, where the jail time will range from 2-5 years. The article also says that if the penal act is done through the exploitation of state duty or public service, imprisonment will be added with one quarter. Whereas, for the partakers in the gambling activities will be fined up to imprisonment of 1 year.
