The Albanian tourism sector will have its first certified tour operators and guides. The first stage of the licensing process was concluded and the first 159 tour operators have been certified. This was confirmed by the Ministry of Economic Development, Trade, tourism and Entrepreneurship, which announced that a ceremony would be held on the occasion on Monday.
The guides have been selected after a testing procedure conducted by commissions created by the ministry. The guides were certified for three categories, national, local and special guides.
This process is expected to have a major impact on the on the tourism sector by improving quality and promoting specific areas. Moreover, the certification process will help to create new jobs.
