With the increase of farms and the production of the agricultural products, farmers have been able to increase exports toward the regional countries, say experts. This tendency shows that Albanian bio products have competed with other countries’ products by becoming a primary source of revenues for farmers during the past year.
Exports have increased mainly for fruits and vegetables, marking a record increase of them. Official data show that exports during 2014 increased to 4.1 billion ALL, much more than the value of exports during 2013, only 2.7 billion ALL.
The main markets where Albanian bio products have been exported are Kosovo, Serbia, Bulgaria and Montenegro. The continuous incentives and facilities the government has provided for farmers by applying various subsidy schemes and grants have started to show their positive effects in terms of exports.
