On Tuesday, the parliamentarian Economy Commission approved the financing agreement the government reached with the KFW German Bank for Development for financing the conduction of the feasibility projects and studies for the construction and the rehabilitation of water supply systems in rural areas.
At the meeting of the Commission were discussed the objectives of this agreement which include the preparation of the feasibility studies and the selection of water suppliers which will be financed in the third phase of “Water supply of rural areas III” project.
The project will also select the schemes of water suppliers after the conduction of feasibility studies and this process will be made by following the criteria previously set by the KfW bank and the Albanian government. The main criteria to be selected as a proper scheme to finance are the cost of a water supplier for resident. The winning schemes will be financed by a fund of EUR 670 thousand which will be accorded by the Albanian Fund for Development.
