The Assembly Speaker Ilir Meta, the Ministers of Economic Development, Social Welfare and Agriculture, and the Israeli ambassador to Albania attended the inauguration ceremony of a modern farm in Fushe-Kruje, an investment by “Besa Agro Invest”. Considered as a very important business for the development of the area, the investment is expected to reach the amount of 15 ml EUR in the five upcoming years.
The farm of 50 hectares has modern infrastructure and equipment and will employee about 500 employers. The Assembly Speaker Ilir Meta held a speech at the ceremony and emphasized the importance of the agriculture sector, since it is considered by the government as a prior sector for 2015. In a near future, said Meta, we expect to note a big leap regarding the further development of agriculture, farming and fishing, being these extraordinary sources for a real economic growth.
Meta also highlighted the importance of investments in greenhouses, since this way the agricultural production will meet the demands of domestic and external market for fruits and vegetables in a short time.
Meanwhile, the Minister of Agriculture Edmond Panariti was of the opinion that Albania is a very competitive country in the production of fresh vegetables and fruit-growing and that the investment by Besa foundation will increase the demand for agricultural products. “This is an indicator of where we should focus and use in an efficient way the public and donators funds. This is a very encouraging initiative because will urge the production of fruits and vegetables,” declared Panariti.
The Minister of Agriculture also mentioned some of the governments’ initiatives and facilities for farmers, policies that support all production processes as well as backing for investors.
