TIRANA, February 1
Albania will be the organizer of the 9th FAI World Paragliding Accuracy Championship, which will take place in Vlora area on May 5-14. Albania won the right for organizing this championship in 2014 when it was competing with China and Germany. Therefore, more than 200 paragliders from 50 different countries will participate in this activity of major importance.
This is expected to be the most important event of the year and also a great way for promoting Albania’s tourism potential. Meanwhile, the renowned actress of Albanian descent Eliza Dushku will be the official image of the event. The championship will be organized by the Albanian Air Sports Federation in cooperation with the Ministry of Culture. The presentation of the event took place on Tuesday when the Minister of Culture Mirela Kumbaro and chair of the Federation Renis Tershana signed a cooperation agreement.
