Albania and Austria Agree on Pension Recognition

TIRANA, January 25

Thousands of Albanians that have worked in Albania and Austria can now protect their pension entitlements thanks to an agreement signed on Wednesday between Albanian Minister of Social Welfare and Youth Blendi Klosi and his counterpart Alois Stoger. The rule applies to Austrian citizens as well. Austria’s Minister of Social Affairs Alois Stoger highlighted that Austria supports Albania on its processes towards EU integration. Previously Albania has signed agreements on pension recognition with Germany, Belgium, Luxemburg, Hungary, Romania, Macedonia, and the Czech Republic.
“Soon we expect to sign a pension agreement with Canada,” Klosi said.
