In the recent days, economy experts have noticed a price decline in domestic markets of agricultural products, compared to the last week of July, though these prices are higher than a year ago.
According to official data, the vegetable prices resulted 25.1% higher compared with a year ago. While, circa 40% of agricultural and some livestock products are being sold with lower prices.
Agricultural experts say that the export growth and the unstable climate in the summer season, precisely during the months (May, June and July) brought delays in placing on the market of agricultural production, and consequently price increases.
The agricultural production different than the previous seasons is hardly managing to neutralize the effect of imports by maintaining high inflation for these products. According to official data, the lowest prices of vegetables were recorded in the districts of Fier and Lushnje while the highest are in Tirana, Durres and Vlora.
