Bankers Petroleum Canadian company has replied to the declaration of Erjon Brace SP deputy regarding the explosion of two oil wells on April 1st in Marinze area, in Fier.
The press release by Bankers underlines that the company has shown transparency regarding its actions before and after the incident. The statement highlights the total readiness of the company on the evacuation of the residents near the area of the explosion.
Socialist Party deputy Erjon Brace accused the Ministry of Energy and Industry for not taking the needed measures for Bankers activity in Albania, adding that the company has caused huge damages in Marinz village.
Bankers has been in continuous contacts with the Ministry of Energy, the State Policy, the Prefecture and agencies of natural resources and environment in order to take the necessary measures regarding the incident.
The locals of Marinze village whose houses have been damaged by the explosion have claimed for compensation by Bankers, which in turn states that it is cooperating with the Commission of Damages Evaluation in identifying the caused damages and the manner the locals will be compensated.
According to companyโs press release, Bankers has invested circa $1.2 billion in a ten years period and in 2014 the company employed 2000 persons.
