“The construction of Vlora bypass as one of the high potential touristic zones in Albania will end within the next 30 months,” was announced during the signing of the agreement between the Ministry of Transports and Infrastructure and the Italian construction company Serenissima Construzioni (Serenissima Construction International).
The Minister of Transports and Infrastructure Edmond Haxhinasto considered this project as one of the most important projects for the Albanian coastline, and asked from the contracted company to respect the deadline and to implement this project based on the contemporary European standards.
Present during the signing of the agreement was also the General Director of Serenissima Construction International company Giuseppe Nardi which expressed the engagement of the company in this project and in the implementation of European standards, adding that the company will finalize the construction of the bypass in the predicted deadline.
“We are currently working with the Ministry of Transports for the Fier bypass and we have established good relations, hence we will engage in the construction of Vlora bypass before the deadline,” declared Nardi. The representative of the Italian company added that “this project will be a necessary artery for the community that will boost the development of tourism in this beautiful area.”
The length of the bypass is 29 kilometers and it will have two lanes. The project includes the construction of six main bridges at a length of 50-150 meters. This project is financed by the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development, the European Bank of Investments and the Delegation of the European Commission, worth 53 million Euros. The construction of this bypass will facilitate the road traffic in Vlora city, particularly during the summer season, since Vlora is one of the most preferred and visited cities in Albania.
