TIRANA, October 25
Citizens traveling from Albania to Italy and vice-versa faced disruption on their flight schedules due to a “Black Friday” industrial action called by Italian union traders protesting over pay and work conditions.
The strike that started on late Thursday affected all means of public transportation in Italy, including, rail, ferries, and airport services from main cities such as Rome, Milan, Naples, and Florence.
Over 100 flights departing from Fiumicino were canceled, including Alitalia’s flights to Tirana. The Italian airline canceled over 240 national and international flights. The carrier announced the strike since October 21st.

Air Albania’s flights from Tirana to Milan and vice versa were also canceled.
The Civil Aviation Authority issued an announcement on Friday saying that passengers traveling to and from Italy must check their flight status.
