What Were 10 Richest Companies in 2018?

Last year, the annual turnover for all the businesses in Albania was, according to INSTAT, around Lek37 billion, or €16 billion, from which 18% of these annual turnovers came from only 10 companies. For the year 2018, the oil companies, the state franchises, commercial banks, and the construction businesses, were dominating the list of 10 biggest companies in Albania.

In 2018, Kastrati holds the first spot as the company for the biggest annual turnover in Albania. The wholesale fuel importation association had an annual turnover of Lek62.2billion, or €500 million last year, thanks to the increase of the oil price in the international stock market, which raised the circulation of the companies that import this product.

Electricity Power Distribution System Operator (OSHEE), which is a state franchise, was listed in second place, with €443 million annual turnovers, whereas in third place is the National Trade Bank with €361million of annual turnover. In the 10 richest companies in Albania for 2018, there was a new entry. Western Atlas International, a company based in Fier county, that carries out the hydrocarbons operations, is the fourth biggest company in 2018, having an annual turnover of €290 million.

The list continues with Spiecapag Shqiperia, which is an under contractor of tap pipeline and Bankers Petroleum, that exploits with concession in Patos-Marinza oil field. The list of 10 companies with the biggest annual turnover in Albania, closes with the producer of steel Kurum, Spiecapag Adriatica, the fuel company Genclaudis, and the Albanian Power Corporation (KESH).
However, this is the listing according to annual turnover. Whereas, the list of companies that had the biggest income in 2018, is headed by KESH and OSHEE.
