TIRANA, July 25
The Institute of Statistics (INSTAT) has published on Tuesday, July 23, a report titled ‘The movements of citizens, June 2019’, and referring to data, during last month the Kosovar and German tourists were among the ones who set a record of entries in Albania. Compared to the same month of last year, 213.550 Kosovars and 20.046 Germans came to Albania in June 2019 either for vacations, business or personal reasons, an increase of 55.3% and 39.5% respectively.
The same thing is noticed regarding the period January-June 2019, where 608.649 Kosovars and 59.486 Germans entered Albania, an increase of 6.4% and 19.5% respectively. Whereas, this year Poland has ‘forgotten’ Albania, regarding their vacations. Unlike the previous years, the only decrease of arrivals from the foreign citizens was registered from Polish visitors, who in June 2019 only 25.909 entered Albania, a fall of 7.4% compared to the same month of last year.
Again, referring to data by INSTAT, a boom of entries last month was from Switzerland too. Even though the number is still small, 5019 Swiss citizens visited Albania in June 2019, but compared to the same month of 2018, the increase was 55.4%. Also, for the period January- June 2019, a total of 18.797 Swiss citizens entered Albania, an increase of 34.6% compared to the same period of last year.
