TIRANA, April 19
Doing Business in Berat is the first investorsโ guide published for one of the 61 Albanian municipalities. The booklet provides all the necessary information for investors, business people, as well as juridical and physical individuals that plan to open a business in Berat.
Berat, located in south-central Albania, 121 km away from Tirana is among the few destinations in Albania where tourists can outnumber locals in high season.
Despite the high tourism potential, there is a need for business initiatives that involve both private entrepreneurs and host communities in sustainable initiatives.
Doing Business in Berat is a guideline that includes all the steps needed for active involvement.
It provides detailed information on how to start a new business, where to register it, what incentives are offered for startups, details on construction and restoration permits, staff recruitment, etc.
Moreover, the business guide includes details on specific locations, and information on street vendors, public transport, insurance companies, and banking and financial institutions.
The booklet is available in the Albanian and English languages. Visitors can get a copy of the booklet at Berati Info Center, at the one-stop-shop, and in every public institution. The business guide was made by the Municipality of Berat with the support of USAID.
