TIRANA, September 5
The National Archaeological Park of Apollonia, which is located about 12 kilometers away from the city of Fier is one of Albaniaโs most visited tourist attractions for this summer season. Numerous Albanian and international tourists mostly from Poland, France, and Italy have the chance to explore the cultural monuments of Apolonia, which in combination with the picturesque landscape of the area are attracting more and more visitors.
Specialists from the park say that the number of tourists would have been much higher if the road that takes to the park was reconstructed. However, the completion of Mbrostar-Levan bypass is expected to provide a solution to this issue. It links the main road with the road to Apollonia Park thus, a part of the long road will be avoided. According to UNESCO organization, Apollonia represents one of the most important cities of the Mediterranean world and Adriatic basin, preserved in an exceptionally intact condition. Numerous monuments inside its original borders comprise an outstanding evidence of Greco – Roman culture of the city.
