The good and stable relations between Albania and the Republic of Kuwait seem to be in their best days. On Tuesday, September 29, the Kuwaiti ambassador to Tirana Najeeb A. Al- Bader attended the inauguration ceremony of “Kuwait Street” in the Tirana – Elbasan highway, a road segment near to the National Martyrs Cemetery. Present in the inauguration ceremony were also the Tirana Municipality Mayor Erion Veliaj and the Assembly Speaker Ilir Meta.
The Kuwaiti ambassador expressed his excitement regarding this inauguration, by saying: “I feel very happy that important investments made by the Republic of Kuwaiti are being implemented in Albania, a friendly and close country for Kuwaiti nation and for me personally. Albania has made huge steps forward in the past years and this is a guarantee that this country has a very optimistic future.”
Investments made by the Republic of Kuwaiti in Albania are mostly focused in developing projects in the social sphere, infrastructure and healthcare. On August 11 of this year, the Republic of Kuwaiti provided a EUR 2.1 ml fund for humanitarian organizations that operate in Albania.
Regarding future developments of the relations between the two countries, the Kuwaiti ambassador praised the friendly relations established by the Albanian government and the Republic of Kuwait, adding that the Republic of Kuwait will continue to invest in Albania.
