World Bank will accord a financial support of $1.1 billion to Albania, declared Tahsen Sayed, World Bank Country Manager for Albania. Present in the meeting of parliamentary Economy Commission, Sayed announced that World Bank will finance 15 projects in 2015-2019 period, approximately 3 projects per year.
Sayed presented at the meeting the new partnership framework, under which will be implemented projects in five most important sectors of country’s economy. World Bank investments will have their positive impact in improving the economic situation, declared Sayed at the meeting.
The draft projects of World Bank for a period of five years will be discussed in March with state financial institutions and will be presented to the Board of Directors of World Bank at the end of April of this year.
World Bank has continually funded important projects in governance and public sector projects in Albania. Here is the list of years and funds given by World Bank:
2011 – $27 ml
2012 – $74 ml
2013 – $45 ml
2014 – $316 ml
2015 – $165 ml
