World Bank representatives in Albania presented in a press conference the latest report on the Southeast Europe, titled “Economic Report for Southeast Europe, (EJL6)”, declaring that the Albania’s economy increased by 2.8% in the first quarter of this year. According to the World Bank report, the Albanian economy will record growing trends during the fourth quarter of this year, more than other regional countries economic growth.
According to Tahseen Sayed, World Bank representative for Albania, the policies for the fiscal consolidation and the decrease of unemployment rate are main indicators that will support the economic growth in Albania.
Sayed declared at the press conference, “The government must support people in need since the role of the social assistance is very important for the impact of reforms in the country. Every government should provide social assistance.”
One of the main contributors in the economic growth has been the domestic investments and according to the World Bank report, the Albanian economy will continue to grow within the upcoming months.
World Bank in Albania supports the government’s reform and actions on behalf of fighting the informality and considers it important for the reduction of the fiscal evasion in the country.
