Women in Business Fair was organized on Monday by the Dutch Embassy in Tirana. Entrepreneurs, social business initiatives, civil society representatives, and embassy partners gathered together in the fair that aimed at connecting and inspiring. The event was attended by Dutch Ambassador to Tirana Dewi Van De Weerd, Deputy Prime Minister Senida Mesi, and Minister for protection of Entrepreneurship Sonila Qato.
The Dutch Embassy believes that support to women entrepreneurs is key to inclusive economic growth. Ambassador Dewi Van De Weerd said that the goal aimed at supporting female business owners throughout Albania.
On her part, Minister Qato said that there are many skilled women in Albania that had the courage to enter the business world and turn into successful entrepreneurs and administrators. According to her, about 31 percent of small and medium-sized enterprises in Albania are administrated by women.
“We must support programs that help women to gain entrepreneurial knowledge. The lack of information I one of the main barriers for women,” Qato said.
She added that the inclusion of women in difficult situations in free entrepreneurship through supporting policies will help the entire society.
