The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has published the list of countries whose citizens can enter in the Albanian territory without a visa during June 1st – November 1st 2015, due to the government’s policies in attracting new tourists in country.
Citizens from the following countries are not obliged to apply for a visa at the diplomatic institutions of the Republic of Albania and they can enter in the country only by obtaining their passport:
- Saudi Arabia
- Qatar
- Oman
- Bahrein
- Russia
- Georgia
- Belarus
By approving these changes in the law by the Council of Ministers, the government aims to increase the number of visitors and boost tourism this year, since it has foreseen that their number will increase by 20-25% in 2015, compared to 2014.
The new amendments in the law predicts that also citizens of countries who obtain a Schengen visa with multiple entries which has been used for travel before or citizens who have a valid residence permit in one of the Schengen area countries can visit Albania without a visa. This is applicable also by citizens who obtain a valid residence permit in the United States of America or the United Kingdom.
On behalf of the visa liberalization process with several Schengen countries, citizens of the following countries can enter in Albania without visa through the entire year: Antigua & Barbuda, Bahamas, Barbados, Brunei, Guatemala, Honduras, Costa Rica, Mauritius, Nicaragua, PanamΓ‘, Paraguay, Salvador, Seychelles, St. Kitts, Nevis, Uruguay, Venezuela, Macau, Moldova.
