TIRANA, February 13
The German Association of Industry and Trade in Albania (DIHA) held on Tuesday its annual event focused on the economic situation of the country. German Ambassador to Tirana Susanne Schutz said that Albania has untapped potential in many areas, notably in the sectors of tourism, renewable energy, modern agriculture, and services. The ambassador pointed out that there’s a rising interest of German companies in Albania. Yet, they want to hear success stories from companies that are already active in the market.
Ambassador Schutz added that legal certainty, transparency as well as a functioning and efficient and non-corrupt administration are what the investors are looking for.
In the meantime, she stressed that unfortunately, lately, the German and other foreign investors with experience in the Albanian market have often expressed serious doubts and concerns regarding a fair economic climate in Albania.
On her part, DIHA’s President Stephanie Sieg said that Albania made progress in different sectors, yet there is much to be done.
