The Albanian Financial Supervisory Authority has issued a report on the performance of insurance premiums for the first five months of this year, showing that they increased significantly. Voluntary life insurance premiums reached the value of ALL 2.169 million during January – May period, increasing by 6.33% compared to January – May of 2014. In the meantime, the number of voluntary insurance contracts increased as well by 9.996%, compared to the figures in 2014.
A significant increase was noticed also in non life voluntary insurance contracts during January-May 2015, increasing by 12.63% compared to the previous year.
The report shows that incomes from insurance contracts about the property, responsibilities and guarantees were estimated to reach the amount of ALL 1,058 million during the first five months of 2015. Property insurance contracts increased by 69.56%, followed by the general civil liabilities insurance contracts which increased by 21.27%, compared to January – May 2014 period.
Based on report’s figures, insurance contracts of “fire and natural forces” also increased by 9.44%, while incomes from the health insurance contracts reached the value of ALL 451 million, increasing by 46.81% compared to January – May 2014.
