Twinning project between the Albanian Customs and EU countries

In a conference held on Thursday, March 4^th, the Albanian Customs Administration presented a twinning project with the European Union member countries. “Modernization of the Albanian Customs Administration” twinning project aims to accelerate the procedures in the Albanian Custom points by establishing a computer based system which will make possible the application of joint transit procedures between Albania and the European Union countries.

The project was presented by the General Director of the Albanian Customs, Pravera Fagu, the European External Action Service Head of Operations Yngve Engström, and the Italian and French Ambassadors to Tirana. According to them, this project will also reduce fraud cases at the Albanian Custom points.
