Traditional craftsmanship, food, and items offer wide opportunities for employment and economic empowerment in the tourism industry. The Artisans Fair, one of the local festivals held during the tourist season, was organized in Velipoja area, northwestern Albania. Handmade products, bio food, wine from local vineyards were displayed at the new promenade of Velipoja for the local and international tourists.
Minister of Tourism and Environment Blendi Klosi called on all the Albanian artisans to take advantage of the tax exemptions offered by the law on craftsmanship and agro-tourism in order to improve their household and local economies.
“Velipoja and Shengjini areas have a lot to share and promote besides the sea and the beach. I’m happy to notice that foreign tourists are surprised by the craftsmanship fair. The events in Shkodra area will continue in Shiroka with the Festival of the Carp Fish and the Culinary Fair in Shkodra’s promenade,” Klosi said.
He highlighted that local festivals with continue until the end of the summer season with the aim to promote local traditions and agro-tourism.
