TIRANA, January 27
All tourist guide operators, both Albanian and international, that need a certification must submit their applications by February 6. A few days after the Ministry of Economic Development announced the certification procedures, it also made public the list of documents needed for the process that is expected to end by February 27.
The documents must be submitted to the General Directorate for Tourism Development at the Ministry of Economy.
The list includes information related to the applicant data, the tour guide category, the languages that the guide will use during his/her activity and , an ID copy, a criminal record, a notarized copy of the highest diploma or academic degree, the Red Cross certification, verification of employment, and language certificates.
Meanwhile, foreign citizens besides the above-mentioned documents must include the residency permit, certifications that prove their basic knowledge of the Albanian language that must be issued by an institution that is authorized by the Ministry of Education.
Applicants must take a test on the evaluation of their knowledge and abilities after scrutiny of documents.
