TIRANA, July 19
The General Directorate of Taxation advises tourism related businesses to be careful when declaring their transactions.
As of June 2017, the tax on tourism was reduced to six percent. However, the tax administration informs that only the hotel occupancy tax (HOT), including the cases when the hotel room reservation covers breakfast, will be reduced to six percent.
In the meantime, the tax rate for all the other services offered by the accommodation facility will be 20 percent.
βServices such as bar-restaurants, pool, sauna, conference rooms, or others that are offered by accommodation facilities will be subject to a 20percent tax,β the General Directorate of Taxation highlighted.
