The tourism of adventure has become an objective of the Ministry of Tourism, not only to those tourists who practice it. The mountainous and sea relief of Albania make it a potential area for foreign investments in this aspect.
In the framework of Albania’s branding and touristic promotion, the head of Adventure Travel Trade Agency, Christopher Doyle and other presitigious foreign touristic operators held a nine-day visit in Albania, Kosovo and Macedonia. But, what special features make Albania an attractive place for the adventurous tourism? One of them is the pristine and unexploited nature, the ancient history and culture, myths and legends. The head of Adventure Travel Trade Agency, Christopher Doyle said at the end of his visit:
“This region is a precious cultural place hidden from the world. Here in this region, fear vanishes; people here are opened, friendly and speak about cohabition, regardless their religious beliefs. There is a kind of richness in this place that everyone would like to experience and touch. This area is unique, virgin and authentic, and I am speaking about the Western Balkan. The locals know very well the nature, histyr and their traditions and feel very proud about them. These people can accompany tourists by giving the chance to experience the area’s culture.”
ATTA members represent over 900 successful entreprices and media which orientate and advice tourists to visit the most beautiful touristic places worldwide. After their traveling experience, these touristic operators released three describing videos about the countries they had visited.
In turn, the president of Austin Adventure” touristic agency after visiting Albania, said: “There is something here that every adventurous tourist wants, like the epic journeys, where you can spend so much calories by walking, and then you have the opportunity to sleep in a four stars hotel. The visit of a wreck since the Second World War, not so known and not far away from the Albanian shore and the wreck’s story were phenomenal to me.”
The head of National Agency of Tourism, Auron Tare says: We must not forget that there is thousand years of history here. If now we promote tourism as it should, the local economy will improve after the raise of awareness for it. This region has been through many wars but still remains virgin and now it is time to visit Albania and Western Balkans. The region is characterized by mysticism as a strategic point where eastern meets western. Many people didn’t know that many archaeological and historical areas existed in Europe or Albania.
