TIRANA, November 14
Air connectivity between Albania and European Union (EU) countries, especially Germany will grow during 2019. Tirana International Airport (TIA) confirmed on Thursday that low-cost Germania Airline will start operating Tirana-Dusseldorf direct air route on May 30, 2019. Tickets are available for booking at the airline’s website.
According to the schedule, two weekly flights will operate between Tirana and Dusseldorf on Thursday and Sunday.
Currently, there are three airlines operating direct routes between Albania and Germany, Lufthansa, Adria Airways, and Wizz Air. The third launched Tirana-Dortmund direct route on October 30. Two weekly flights operate between ‘Mother Teresa’ International Airport and Dortmund airport, respectively on Tuesdays and Saturdays. The tickets start at Euro 19.99.

Low-cost airlines like Germania and Wizz Air offer competitive airfares for the Albanian and international citizens traveling between countries. In the meantime, the majority of the Albanian diaspora in Europe lives in German-speaking countries.
