The number of foreign persons entered in Albania in the past three months has increased by 1.3% compared to the same period of 2014, according to INSTAT. 487.271 visitors entered to Albania during the period of April – June of this year while 870.066 citizens went out during the same time.
The number of foreign visitors which visited the country for tourism purposes and daily visits was 47.646 while in the same period of a year ago, this number was 58.893 persons. As it is shown, the number of people entering in Albania for tourism purposes during these three months decreased but the government says the number of tourists for 2015 has increased in general terms.
The number of people that visited Albania for personal purposes during April – June period was 477.729, 98% of the total number of visitors for the first semiannual of 2015. Compared to the same period of a year before, their number has increased by 1.1%. People that entered in Albania for business purposes comprise 2% of the total number of foreign visitors in country. 92.7% of the visitors in 2015 come from European countries, while the number of visitors from western European countries increased by 26.3%.
