The public finances have allocated more revenues in the state budget due to the increase of the excise tax in the beginning of this year. For the first four months of 2015, incomes allocated from the excise tax reached the amount of ALL 10.599 ml, ALL 1.516 ml more than in the same period of 2014.
According to the Ministry of Finances, the increase of incomes has come as a result of the fight against the fiscal evasion in the Customs administration and the decrease of the imported amount of tobaccos. The government has applied several measures in reducing the consumption of the tobacco by fining businesses and people that do not respect the law against tobacco.
The increase of incomes is also a result of the war against the informality in this regard. The General Directory of Customs in cooperation with Crown Agents British company have launched the “Do clean business” campaign to raise awareness to businesses for trading original products only.
The responsive concessionary company that issues the fiscal stamps for businesses has launched a “sicpa validator” card which helps in identifying the originality of the fiscal stamps.
