Tax Inspectors to Raid Call Centers, Construction, & Manufacturing Companies

TIRANA, November 25

The tax administration warned that the action against the informal economy will focus on three sectors that offer most jobs in Albania. Hence, call centers, construction, and footwear and textile manufacturing companies will be monitored by tax inspectors in December.

In the meantime, the General Directorate of Taxation informs that workplace inspection during November found over 7,200 businesses all over Albania with informal workers or informal payments.
According to the tax administration, the rate of informal and precarious work is expected to be higher in the call center, construction, and manufacturing sectors.
Besides, the aforementioned inspections will focus on businesses with large annual turnovers and unpaid tax obligations.
