According to a latest study published by Oxford University regarding the impact that Trans Atlantic Pipeline will have in the countries where it will be implemented, the Albanian economy will benefit by this huge project, at least for the 50 upcoming years.
The study reveals that it is expected that TAP will continue to work efficiently for a period of 50 years, without the need for restoring or improving its structure. Starting from 2019, TAP is predicted to contribute directly to the Gross Domestic Product at an amount of EUR 7.6 million per year and to open at least 200 job vacancies in an annual basis. For the first fifty years of its activity, the report foresees that TAP will give a total contribution of EUR 743 million to countryโs GDP.
TAP project has commenced to implement in country with the construction of many rural roads and bridges in southern Albania, by an initial fund of EUR 60 million. This will have a huge impact in the development of rural and remote areas in the south, in a short time.
