Student Categories that Are Entitled to Free Education 

TIRANA, November 30

Undergraduate and graduate students that demonstrate excellent academic records or belong to a defined group of categories will be exempt from all the tuition fee in public universities. The Council of Ministers based on a proposal made by the Ministry of Education approved a verdict and according to it, the following categories of students will study for free starting this year.
High-school students with the average high school grade between 9 and 10 that will study to be teachers.
Moreover, the verdict provides a benefit to students who had a parent that was a member of the institutions below and lost life in the line of duty or because of duty:

• State Police
• The National Guard
• Internal Control Service
• Fire Protection and Rescue Service
• The Armed Forces
• State Intelligence Service
• Prison officers
  Further on, the children of persons that were granted the status of former politically prosecuted during the communist regime are also entitled to tuition-free education in all study programs in public universities.
